The Libertarian Party of Walton County is a political organization which is located in Walton County, Florida. We respect you as a competent individual and advocate for the sovereignty of the individual and the limited, yet legitimate roll of government as set forth in the Constitution. The Walton County Libertarians respect and believe in the American heritage of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and believe to enjoy these rights personal responsibility is a requirement. We strongly oppose unearned entitlement and forced wealth redistribution facilitated by the government, because we believe that the governments' only rolls are to protect the individual and his/her rights. We believe that being free and independent is the only way to live, just as our Founders intended. We want a system which encourages all people to choose what they want from life; that lets them live their lives, without interfering with how others choose to live theirs. We want a system which respects the individual and encourages us to discover the best within ourselves, and develop our full potential by providing the least amount of government interference as possible. The Libertarian mindset is a logically consistent approach to politics based on the moral principle of self-ownership and self-governance, as our Founders intended. We believe that each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property in a any way they see fit as long as doing so does not prevent other citizens from doing the same. As mentioned earlier, we believe government's only roles are to defend Americans from enemies, foreign and domestic, force and fraud, and usurpation of individuals' rights, as set forth in the Constitution, and to defend Americans from any force that violates their rights. We believe that it is You and I who make up "We the People," and it is our responsibility to "Keep our Republic." "Live and let live" is the Libertarian way. Join us and proclaim your Liberty!
